Today’s camera phones are just as amazing as nature’s camouflage.

I’m not much in to bugs Koji. But that is a pretty incredible shot.
I hate bugs, too! In ’74, I slipped on my slippers in the hallway at my Japanese boys only dorm and squished a 30 foot cockroach with my bare toes! Yuk!
30 foot cockroach?
A 3 cm cockroach would have been enough to gross me out!!! BLECH!!!
Well, OK. So I exaggerated. 29 feet long.
Still, ultra blech!!!
Wonderful capture!
Thanks! I got lucky!
The camouflage is great – how did you catch it? My eyes probably would have looked right over that.
Well…. I was smoking my stogie out front when I saw it jump. It was a little hard getting close to it to take a picture, though. It was camera shy. 🙂
Look at that thing!
They eat those things… I think Curt may have! See below.
He’s NUTS, I tell you!
Curt volunteered for the Peace Corps when he was young and served his time in Liberia… Whoa, some of the stuff he saw!
Great shot, Koji. The camera-phones are getting better all the time. –Curt
Indeed they are. Unbelievable. Also please see LFFL’s comment right above! LOL
I am sure you are referring to “He’s NUTs, I tell you.” 🙂 And here I thought you would keep it under your hat. Some blogging buddy you are. LOL –Curt
Well, sir, anybody reading your blog about your experiences in Liberia will see for themselves you are nuts! LOL But really, you were quite the humanitarian to have done what you did.
More like operating out of enlightened self interest… I hope. –Curt
Brilliant picture. We used to search them out as kids when we were camping.
You what? You went looking for them? Wow! Pretty courageous!
