You know there is this thing about blogging.
If I didn’t do it, I would never get to meet people like you.
Or have been able to see your father.
Bloggers add so much to my life.
Please tell you father that so many people, like me, are so proud of him and wish him the happiest bithday.
Much respect & Congratulations to your father. My grandfather (on my mother’s side) just turned 92. They’ve seen so much, experienced so many changes…I can’t imagine.
That is very kind of you, Ibara-san…and a belated HB to your grandfather, too! He must have endured many hardships during the war, too. Have you written about it?
96! What an amazing gift that is. My first thought is how much I could learn from someone who has lived such a long and precious life! I love the picture. His smile really touches me. 🙂

Wow – Happy Birthday Dad! Hope there’s some serious cake making going on 🙂
LOL, AC! And thank you.

My grandparents don’t like to talk about it, so I rarely heard stories from them 😦 But naturally I respect their decision.
Indeed, people that endured war and destruction rarely want to talk about it… They were all brave.
Happy Birthday Mr. Kanemoto. Your son has painted a wonderful picture of you for us.
Aww, that’s sweet of you, Chatter Master!
❤ He's beautiful Koji. The way I see him through you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD – hope you don’t mind that I’ve adopted you.
That’s a very kind thought, gpcox… Thank you!
Wishing your dad a wonderful 96th birthday!
Thank you, Doc!!
Please tell Uncle Koso that I wish him a Happy Birthday. If Yutaka were still around he would have been 115 in 2 weeks.
Thanks, ‘Cuz! Indeed, Uncle Yutaka would have been 115… It seems all the stateside siblings (except for Hisao) had long lives, yes?
May your Dad be blessed with more years and many happy birthdays!
Thank you, sir!!
Happy Birthday!
Thank you! And how have you been??
Happy Birthday, Mr Kanemoto, and Many Happy Returns.
Thank you very much, sir!!
Ah, such a lovely picture. Congratulations to your dad.
Thank you so much, Hilary.
