Is America following the same path that the Romans marched on to their downfall?
A young man in America – the country for which he fought for in World War II – did what enemy bullets and artillery couldn’t on Okinawa sixty-eight years ago.
This young man in America beat this 88 year-old veteran to death.

Mr. Delbert Belton – wounded in the leg on Okinawa – was killed on the same soil he fought for.
This entire event really disturbs me.
It disturbs some – but it falls on the deaf ears of millions of undocumented aliens and many, many others.
I heard about this and it both saddens and sickens me. With this and the story of the teens who shot a young Australian student in Oklahoma “just for fun” I wonder what in the world we’ve come to.
We share the same sentiments, Jan.
I just finished reading another article on sachems’s site. I am furious. Is this the world he fought for?
gpcox, you know this is lost for many illegal aliens as well as many of the “underprivileged”… That’s not to say young Americans don’t even know what WWII was about.
I can’t even put in to words. We had better hear some outrage. And there better be no excuses…there are none.
God bless this man, and his family.
Thanks, Chatter Master. It is amazing there was a small memorial for this gallant man in the form of flowers and candles yet a much larger memorial action took place across the nation for the “young kid who had nothing but Skittles and ice tea in his pockets.”
I’ve been checking news through out the day, again. I couldn’t find anything about his memorial. Where did you see something?
It was but a photo on the internet… a few bouquets and candles… I did not see a memorial service, though.
I know I can’t allow myself to become one of those people who refuses to read stories like this (because they’re upsetting), but sometimes I just wish I didn’t have to even know this kind of atrocity happens. My heart just breaks. There isn’t any way I can understand this. I don’t know how his family can even begin to recover…ever!
I have similar feelings, Debra. Very similar. It is just senseless and a reflection on the intelligence and society of those who committed this heinous crime. May he be at peace. I feel great sorrow for his surviving family.
We are so heartsick over this. It is indeed a sad day in America. What is so troubling is that there is no outcry – nobody is calling out for jjustice for this American Hero. America is on the path the ruin.
I had written, “It is amazing there was a small memorial for this gallant man in the form of flowers and candles yet a much larger memorial action took place across the nation for the “young kid who had nothing but Skittles and ice tea in his pockets.”
Many, many Americans just don’t get it, I’m afraid. Yes, I feel we are on our way to ruin.
