Just Some Snapshots #8.1

I hope you all are well and I pray for our young souls going into combat for our sakes.

In addition to investing time into reading WWII history books, my snapshot side of me still beckons.

“EXPLORE” is a featured group on the photo website flickr.com.  Out of the close to 2,000,000 photo uploads daily, about 500 are selected for “EXPLORE” by the website for “interestingness”.  Some of my photos have been fortunate enough to be “interesting”, 19 in total.

The last four are below; hope they are “interesting” to you.  Clicking on the images will take you to the actual photograph.  🙂

This is called “painting with light”.  You leave the shutter open then use a flashlight to illuminate the subject.

    1. Thanks, gpcox… and I won’t ask you about how you feel about the announcement world-wide by a certain someone on TV that our pilots will begin combat sorties… Nothing like a news crew with their video lights on, welcoming Marines invading an enemy beach under cover of darkness…

      1. If I get started – you know I won’t quit. Neither of our computers hold enough characters (&#%$@%&&%$#^$) to explain my feelings on that subject.

  1. You have some wonderful photographs represented in the “explore” feature. You are really talented, Koji. You are so interesting! You read and study WW II and take beautiful photographs of flowers. Quite a surprise! 🙂

    1. You are too kind, Ibara-san.

And I am copying this part of a reply to each of the following comments. I absolutely KNOW I posted replies from my (crappy) WordPress app but none of them show. Grr… 😦

  2. enjoyed your explore – and the lantana flower was special because for about 5 years I had them around the house and hanging from baskets. But for the last couple of years I have had none – and well, your photo brought me back – and reminded me of some I had – it sure is a great and hardy little colorful flower. but all your pics were cool – nice variety !

    1. You must have a green thumb, Prior… I wonder what happened since??

    1. Thank you! The use of “interestingness” is peculiar but indeed, “Explore” does not correlate to ABILITY. 🙂

      1. Awww… Can’t I? lol It really “sucks” on my Android smartphone. For instance, it says “pull down to refresh” or something like that…but it won’t! 🙂 Have a good week!

    1. …but I like your “lady” drawings and cards much more! lol
